Information for the 2026 UBC Physics Olympics
Hello schools!
The 2026 Physics Olympics will be held in-person on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 on UBC campus. We look forward to seeing you!
This in-person Physics Olympics will consist of 6 events: two Pre-builds, two labs, Quizzics(!), and Fermi Questions.
Pre-build rules will be available by January. The general rules will be similar to those from previous years, and will be uploaded on our website by the end of January. Meanwhile, we recommend that teams look over past Rule books and get started with preparing for Quizzics and Fermi Questions. We will give registration priority to schools/programs that are registered with the Province of BC (http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/apps/imcl/imclWeb/Home.do). Homeschool groups are also welcome. All other registrations will be placed on a waitlist until the cancellation deadline, after which we will contact the waitlist groups if spots are available. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you would like to register a second team from your school, please fill out an additional registration form and select “this registration is for a second team from my school”. The second team will be placed on the waitlist until the cancellation deadline, after which we will contact the waitlist groups if spots are available.

Registration and Payment
October, 2025: Due to space restrictions, there is a set capacity for the number of Physics Olympics teams we can host. We will open registration for school teams until at capacity, then we will add further registration requests to a waitlist. If you have any questions or issues with registration, please contact us directly at outreach@phas.ubc.ca for registration assistance.
To register, please click on the registration button, below. This will lead you to a registration form, which when completed, will automatically go to a secure UBC payment information and payment processing page. Once payment is complete, you will receive a confirmation of your registration and a payment receipt via email.
This year, registration/team is $80, which includes 1 t-shirt. To order more t-shirts, please fill out the size/number on the registration form. T-shirts are $15 each.
